Amid COVID-19 Challenges, Quandis Proactively Works with Organizations to Assist U.S. Servicemembers Potentially Facing Default Proceedings

For the next 60 days, Quandis extends its military search service gratis to new clients for SCRA and MLA compliance

RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, Calif., April 15, 2020 Quandis, Inc., a leading default management fintech provider, announced that for the next 60 days it will be making its Military Search Service for compliance adherence to the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (SCRA) and the Military Lending Act (MLA) free to any organization that has not previously used the solution. The bold move is a concerted effort to help creditors ensure their loss mitigation efforts are cognizant of our U.S. active duty servicemembers.

Quandis Military Search (QMS) is a robust data service that provides comprehensive, highly accurate and granular verifications to identify active duty military status for individuals with the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) to adhere to both the SCRA for home loans as well as the MLA for additional consumer-based loans. It automatically searches the DoD’s database using all possible name variations and aliases which reduces the risk of missing a borrower that has active duty status. Quandis provides an official military status report and certificate from the DoD on searches run through its automated system.

The problem is that many organizations are still trying to identify military status by using a precarious manual process whereby they have an actual person visit the DoD’s website and perform individual searches, which is prone to human errors and missed names. What’s more, some companies are so busy dealing with the sudden onslaught of COVID-19 challenges on multiple business and social levels that they aren’t able to devote the time and attention needed to validate military status with the DoD.

“As the country navigates through these uncharted times, we should not lose sight of supporting our active military friends and partners,” stated John Beggins, President of Quandis. “There are a lot of moving parts right now and as a company, Quandis wants to help organizations accurately and efficiently identify active military personnel to alleviate the risk of starting default proceedings. Offering QMS for free to entities that haven’t used us is simply our way of giving back over the next couple of months.”

Of note is that QMS is a completely browser-based solution, thus making it easy for employees to access within a work from home environment and doesn’t involve any installs or maintenance whatsoever.  All that staff members need to utilize QMS is a standard web browser.  With so many employees now working with stay-at-home orders due to COVID-19, Quandis clients have been reporting that use of QMS was a seamless, easy, quick transition for them.

For years, QMS has been successfully utilized by entities such as servicers, banks, credit card processors, auto lenders, collection agencies, lenders, foreclosure attorneys, trustees and other outsourced providers to constantly monitor and effectively identify thousands of loans taken out by U.S. servicemembers, many of which have active duty status and are thus protected by the SCRA and MLA. QMS automates bulk as well as individual searches and can be used as a standalone solution or as integrated with servicing platforms, attorney case management systems, and other third party applications.
